Timeform take you through the card at Ripon on Monday evening...
"...connections have wisely taken the decision to turn him out quickly under a penalty..."
Timeform on Lamloom
18:30 - LORTON (5) still didn't look the finished article when second on her most recent outing at Carlisle, travelling strongly when hitting the front over two furlongs before being essentially worried out of it close home. Given how patiently ridden she had been on her first two starts, it's possible that she saw a bit too much daylight on that occasion, but the form is still the best on offer here (2 lb clear on weight-adjusted ratings), and she makes most appeal for Placepot purposes with the prospect of more to come.
19:00 - SHAMAHEART (7) has been knocking on the door of late and can get his head back in front here with Silvestre de Sousa doing the steering once again. Racemaker arrives in form and has a good record at this venue so rates an obvious danger, while Shouranour is well handicapped if bouncing back to anything like his best form.
19:30 - AD LIBITUM (2) looked well in under a penalty and shaped as if still in good form when third at Carlisle last time, not seen to very best effect given how things developed (forced to race wide). Still just 1 lb higher here, he remains one to keep onside in his current mood and rates by far the most solid proposition in this third leg of the Placepot, with each of his three rivals having questions to answer at present.
20:00 - LAMLOOM (1) got back on the up at Pontefract last week, proving better than ever to defy a mark 8 lb higher than at Nottingham in the spring, although dominating that small field did see him to maximum effect and a hefty weights rise could now be on the cards. As a result, connections have wisely taken the decision to turn him out quickly under a penalty, and provided that big effort has not taken too much out of him, Lamloom would appear to hold sound claims in his follow-up bid, right in the mix on ratings and entirely possible that Daniel Tudhope will be allowed to dictate matters once again.
20:30 - ME BEFORE YOU (6) could be worth chancing for the in-form David O'Meara yard in this penultimate leg of the Placepot. An impressive winner over C&D in May, he has now dropped back to the same mark as when second on his next start at Musselburgh, and though he needs to bounce back from a couple of lesser efforts, there is every chance the return to this venue could see him do so; he doesn't have much to find on form with favourite Global Excel should that be the case.
21:00 - RESTIVE SPIRIT (2) looked a winner in waiting when second at Newmarket 11 days ago and is preferred to Timespan, who made an encouraging start to her career when third at Windsor last month. The Michael Dods newcomer Move In Faster also needs monitoring in the betting.
