14:10 - FLO'S MELODY (1) had Felisa in behind when opening her account at Wolverhampton last time and could be capable of defying a penalty in this opening leg of the Placepot. Fellow Middleham Park runner Plansina is also respected now dropping into a seller with cheekpieces added.
14:45 - ODEN (3) produced the best effort of his short career to date when third at Doncaster last time, keeping on well and leaving the impression there could yet be more to come. He makes his handicap debut from what looks a fair mark here and, with Silvestre de Sousa now taking over in the saddle, Oden would appear to hold sound claims, and is fancied to open his account at the fourth time of asking.
15:20 - KAESO (5) completed a four-timer in determined fashion at Doncaster last time, not looking at home on the softer ground, but finding plenty for pressure and staying on well to lead close home. He has a 4 lb rise in the weights to contend with here, but should be more at home on this quicker ground and, with further improvement not ruled out, Kaeso is fancied to extend his winning sequence for the Tom Eaves/Nigel Tinkler combination.
15:55 - GURKHA FRIEND (2) and Brilliant Vanguard's prominent style of racing has been seen to good effect here on a few occasions already this year and they are possibly the pair to focus on again as they have both grabbed handy draws near the rail. The former is reunited with Silvestre de Sousa for the first time since his C&D success in May and is narrowly preferred for Placepot purposes, with Laidback Romeo another to consider in what looks a competitive heat.
16:30 - LAKE VOLTA (5) looked a potentially smart prospect when running away with the Hornblower over C&D recently and should take plenty of stopping with further progress very much on the cards in this penultimate leg of the Placepot. Enjazaat wasn't disgraced in Group 2 company at Newmarket last time and is respected with the Owen Burrows yard among the winners in recent days, while the selection's stablemate Rebel Assault also has the form to figure if her stamina holds.
17:05 - MUSICAL TERMS (5) has let favourite backers down on a couple of occasions since his debut second in the spring, but has been gelded since last seen at the start of June and is perhaps worth one more chance. Perfect Sense ran to a fair level on debut at Lingfield two weeks ago and looks clear second best.
17:35 - ALL FOR NOTHING (1) made a successful start for new handler John McConnell at Catterick recently and should go well again in the finale, while Kerry Icon is also respected under Abbie McCain.
