Timeform take you through the card at Ripon on Monday...
"...proved himself smart when winning a minor event at Windsor last time by 10 lengths..."
Timeform on Kessaar
14:15 - This will not take a great deal of winning and perhaps NORTHERN LASS (11) will be the one to collect. She failed to measure up to market expectations on debut at Beverley on debut but ought to be more street-wise now and may find the necessary improvement to get the better of Rock Party, who sets the standard based on her latest effort at Redcar. Five Amarones is also accorded respect.
14:50 - WINGED SPUR (2) has been successful on both previous visits here so is worth chancing to recapture her best form with P. J. McDonald, who was on board for her latest win, back in the saddle. Ventura Crest, Snowdon and Buckland Boy head the dangers in a tight heat.
15:25 - MILITIA (2) was a shade disappointing in the 19-runner Stewards' Cup consolation race at Goodwood but he's been eased 3 lb since and may well resume winning ways back down in class, against his own age group and back in this smaller field. Shortbackandsides is not short of ability but his profile is starting to look rather patchy, therefore Me Before You and Porchy Party may emerge as the main dangers.
16:00 - KESSAAR (2) found the Windsor Castle at Royal Ascot coming too soon on just his second start, but proved himself smart when winning a minor event at Windsor last time by 10 lengths. He is well drawn near the rail and looks more than capable of winning races at this level, so is a strong fancy. Life of Riley and Neverland Rock bring some pattern-race form to the table, while Sunsprite has won his last 3 and can make an impact in this higher grade.
16:35 - JUST HISS (8) put in good late work when third behind Waarif and Mikmak when returning from a break here 9 days ago. He should be sharper now and is taken to reverse the placings with those rivals, despite the fact that David Allan sticks with Mikmak. Hayadh shaped encouragingly in the same race and isn't ruled out but Gulf of Poets and Gurkha Friend, who is 4-6 here, rate the main dangers.
17:10 - JURRAN (4) couldn't quite justify market confidence at Redcar last time, but still ran an encouraging race in second, beaten only by a subsequent winner, and this looks an ideal opportunity for him to go one better. Jawshan has shown promise on both starts and could perhaps be the one to fill the forecast spot.
17:45 - The handicapper has taken a bit of a chance dropping DIFFERENT JOURNEY (5) 4 lb in one go and he's worth siding with to bounce straight back from a poor run at Pontefract last time. Ravenhoe is another who needs to shrug aside a lesser effort but he has a much more solid profile than the majority of these, while Fillydelphia arrives in form and can figure again.
