Timeform assess the runners for a competitive handicap at Sandown on Wednesday evening...
"Secret Rebel could well be allowed the run of the race in front and is preferred to Homage and Swift Cedar..."
Homage made it third time lucky in maidens at Kempton (6f) in September, and improved when landing a 7f Haydock handicap on return. Good second over C&D next time and likely to go well again.
Kyllachy Rise was outclassed in 2000 Guineas on final run for Sir Henry Cecil. Landed a maiden at Salisbury for this yard and respectable effort in Brittania at Royal Ascot. Better than result over C&D last time.
Secret Rebel ended 2012 with 3 fair efforts in 7f/1m polytrack events, and resumed progress last 2 starts, beating a subsequent winner when comfortably making all at Chepstow last month. Big player.
Mission Approved got off mark at third time of asking in Warwick maiden, and looked useful prospect when readily landing 7f Lingfield handicap on return. Not seen to best effect next time and worth another chance.
Yourartisonfire won 6f maiden at Haydock last July and has generally run well in handicaps since. May prove vulnerable to more progressive types, however.
Swift Cedar finished placed 3 times at 2 yrs and finally off mark in 7f Newbury handicap. Improved another chunk when following up at Newcastle next time but return to this trip may not be totally ideal.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Secret Rebel
2. Homage
3. Swift Cedar
Timeform Verdict: A tightly-knit event in which tactics could play a key part. Secret Rebel could well be allowed the run of the race in front and is preferred to Homage and Swift Cedar.
