Brown Panther is a smart middle-distance stayer who's looked better than ever when winning both his starts this year, including Goodwood Cup. Could be vulnerable dropped to this sort of trip under a penalty, however.
Dick Doughtywylie hasn't disgraced himself in good company this term, third in listed race at Newbury last time. More needed for the win, though.
Gabrial looked better than ever when winning 1m listed race at Doncaster on return and creditable efforts since when placed. Dodgy temperament always there with him, though.
Grandeur progressed well last year, winning 5 times, including pair of US Grade 2 events. As good as ever when runner-up in Group 2 at York in July and not disgraced in Arlington Million next time.
Mister Music finished second in Brittania Stakes at Royal Ascot last term. Took advantage of reduced mark in blinkers here and backed that up with a win in minor event at Bath last time. More on his plate here, though.
Quick Wit was back on the scoresheet at Meydan in March and also landed a 1m Doncaster minor event last month. Disappointed next 2 starts, though.
Rewarded looked better than ever when landing a 1¼m Goodwood listed event in May, and ran as well as could have been expected in defeat since. Not without a chance.
Sugar Boy made up into a smart performer at 2 yrs, and had Galileo Rock behind when landing the Sandown Classic Trial. Finished lame in Irish Derby next time and can bounce on debut for new yard.
Making Eyes was better than ever when landing a 1¼m Newcastle listed event in the mud in June. Performed with credit when fifth in French Group 3 since but likely to come up a little short.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Grandeur
2. Sugar Boy
3. Brown Panther
Timeform Verdict: Brown Panther may prove vulnerable under a penalty over this trip so this could end up between Grandeur and Sugar Boy, the former just shading the vote.
