Mia's Boy is a hold-up performer who is maintaining form well. Would have benefitted from a stronger gallop when third at Lingfield (1¼m) last month, but big player again if this doesn't turn tactical.
Postscript continued improvement in 2012, scoring 5 times (including twice here). Rare poor effort when last seen in September, but of interest if market vibes positive for new yard on return.
Verse Of Love resumed winning ways over 7f here in February. Even better when third in a listed race back at this venue in March, but below par since, and yet to prove he stays this far.
Kingscroft looked better than ever when winning over 7f here in November. Creditable efforts in defeat since, and ought to go well again given the stamina doubts surrounding others.
Springinmystep wasn't winning out of turn when successful at Newcastle (6f) in July, but handicapper in charge afterwards, and stamina to prove for new yard having being gelded since last seen in October.
Elusive Hawk was in good heart when scoring 3 times over 6f on AW in recent months. Turned over at prohibitive odds in a claimer last time, though, and well beaten only previous try over 1m+.
Dubawi Island has finished placed several times in handicaps since opening account in a 1m Southwell maiden in August. Not seen to best effect in cheekpieces last time, and likely to fare better with usual blinkers back on now.
Good Authority is a dual 7f polytrack winner who shaped better than bare result when last seen in December. On a workable mark on return, but would make more appeal over shorter.
Newnton Lodge won over 7f on debut in 2011. Only seen 3 times since, not beaten far second try in a handicap when sporting a hood at Sandown (1m) in September, and market best guide now reappearing for new yard.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Mia's Boy
2. Dubawi Island
3. Kingscroft
Timeform Verdict: The consistent Mia's Boy is reliant on a strong pace back at this trip, but he looks the most likely winner if that proves to be the case. Dubawi Island and Kingscroft are others worth considering.
