St Moritz has produced his best efforts of late here, winning C&D minor event on return and not beaten far over 1m in June. No impact in 3 runs for current yard, but capable of bouncing back in a tongue tie.
Maven is a strong-travelling mare who landed her sixth race at Ayr (1¼m) in June, beating 3 next-time out winners. Not in same form in 3 runs since, though, and still 2 lb above last winning mark.
Hydrant has done well for new yard, winning 3 times under this claimer, and creditable third at Beverley on latest outing. Best when dominating, and faces competition for early lead here.
San Cassiano opened his account for 2013 with an all-the-way victory over C&D in June, and has run well when in frame on last 2 starts here. Will be vying for early supremacy, and a strong pace looks guaranteed.
Dolphin Rock made a winning return to action at Pontefract in April, and improved again to land a Chester handicap in May (1¼m). Best of those to race prominently when good third at former venue last time.
Barren Brook bounced back to form when hitting frame at York and Pontefract last month, and ran into traffic problems when below form over 1m here last time. Should bounce back, and one to bear in mind.
Triple Eight was placed on 4 of his first 5 starts this term before easy C&D win on penultimate start (San Cassiano third). Narrowly denied at Beverley last time, and sure to give another good account here.
Full Toss won twice in handicaps last year, and didn't have to be at his best to notch another win in Redcar seller last month. No impact back in a handicap last time, though, and opposable again here.
Spirit of Rio's best effort in maidens came when an easy winner over C&D earlier in the month. Clearly handles this trick course well, and remains unexposed ahead of handicap bow. Market useful.
Eeny Mac notched up a hat-trick last summer, and back in the groove with wins at Redcar and Beverley of late. Forced into a stronger race now, though, and will do well to follow up latest win.
1. Triple Eight
2. Spirit of Rio
3. St Moritz
Timeform View: With pace guaranteed from both Hydrant and San Cassiano, this should be set up to suit recent C&D winner Triple Eight. Spirit of Rio is unexposed, and also proven here, so is feared, with St Moritz capable of bouncing back from a couple of quiet efforts.
