Kingsmere was a dual winner over fences in 2012 who has benefitted from a return to smaller obstacles. Matching pick of chase form with a facile success at Cheltenham five days ago. Should be bang there despite penalty.
Bathwick Brave was a useful hurdler at best, but plenty to prove after finishing well held this season, jumping none to fluently at Exeter (23f) last week.
Midnight Cataria made a winning hurdles debut in mares' only company here (21f) in October and improved again when landing C&D handicap two starts ago. Not disgraced latest, and another to consider.
One Conemara dead-heated on bumper debut before landing 21f maiden hurdle here last February. Failed to complete both starts this term, though, and bit to prove, despite being in top hands.
Too Generous took career record to four wins from five starts at Plumpton (21f) last winter. Stepped up on C&D return from a year off when runner-up at Market Rasen (21f) in February, but more needed now. Blinkered.
Storm Alert proved better than ever when gaining third career success at Exeter (23f) in February, and seemingly found out by 7 lb rise when fifth at that venue a week ago. Should give his running again.
Decimus comes good in the spring, bouncing back to best to return to winning ways at Stratford last month. Good third at Bangor (3m) earlier this month, and likely to remain in form.
Phare Isle is a strong traveller who has posted some creditable efforts of late, but win record tempers enthusiasm, and pretty much summed up by this mark.
Church Field much improved when racking up 4-timer early last summer. Respectable seventh on return from four months off at Market Rasen earlier this month, and should be sharper now.
Dragon's Den returned to winning ways at this venue a year ago and running creditably in recent weeks, including when fourth in a hood at Taunton (19f) earlier this month. Remains with work to do from this mark.
Harris is a Catterick hurdles winner who showed improved form switched to chasing when scoring again at that venue in March. Ran no sort of race when pulled up at Haydock latest, and reverts to smaller obstacles.
Halucha is still prone to the occasional lapse, but won handicaps at Towcester in May and Taunton in November. More miss than hit subsequently, and ran no sort of race at Market Rasen last time.
Zafaraban found the frame for Tony Carroll in July, but well held in two outings for George Baker in December. Struggled upon joining new yard, and failed to take to chasing latest. 10 lb out the weights here.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Kingsmere
2. Midnight Cataria
3. One Conemara
Timeform view: A competitive-looking 3m handicap, but the strong suggestion is Kingsmere who won comfortably at Cheltenham last week, and should be hard to beat under a penalty. C&D winner Midnight Cataria ran well following a hefty rise in the weights at Newbury last time and should again give a good account. One Conemara has disappointed this season but cannot be ignored given connections.
