Timeform look at the Sir Gordon Richards Conditions Stakes, run over just shy of 12 furlongs.
"Model Pupil won 11-runner maiden at Newmarket in April by nose from Shantaram (strong form), and better still when touched off by same margin in Chester Vase. Absent since, but remains likely to improve."
Genzy Won minor event at Saint-Cloud on 2011 return, and good head second in listed race at Longchamp for Jonathan Pease. Absent since poor run in June that year, and market useful on debut for new yard.
Mijhaar managed an excellent third in Wolferton at Royal Ascot in June. In and out since, running respectably when 1¼ lengths second of 4 to Prince Siegfried at York last time. No excuses in this line-up.
The Lock Master is enjoying a productive year, digging deep when winning for fourth time in the mud at Leicester (1¼m) recently. Good third last time, but does appear to be flying a bit high in this company.
Model Pupil won 11-runner maiden at Newmarket in April by nose from Shantaram (strong form), and better still when touched off by same margin in Chester Vase. Absent since, but remains likely to improve.
Cracking Lass made up into a useful performer last year, but did hint at temperament at times, and that aspect of her character threatening to take over of late, looking unwilling at Newmarket last time.
Timeform 1-2-3:
1. Model Pupil
2. Mijhaar
3. Cracking Lass
Timeform view: Mijhaar is the strict form choice, and has no concerns over fitness, but he has become frustrating to follow, and a chance is taken on Model Pupil, who looked set for a good season when placed in the Chester Vase, only to have missed a large portion of the season.
