The Punchestown Festival continues on Thursday

Timeform pick out their best three bets on day three of the Punchestown Festival.

"She has gone well fresh in the past and she may well have been saved for this race again."

Back Jacksonslady in the 16:15

Jacksonslady - 16:15 Punchestown

JP McManus holds a strong hand here, and the fact that Barry Geraghty has opted to ride last year's winner Jacksonslady could count for a for a lot. Jacksonslady has been lightly campaigned since her five-length success in this race last year, running just twice, and she was better than ever when last seen finishing third at Limerick over three miles in October. She has gone well fresh in the past and she may well have been saved for this race again. Rock The World's third in the Grand Annual at the Cheltenham Festival brings him into contention and he could be the biggest danger to Jacksonslady.

Josies Orders - 16:50 Punchestown

Josies Orders was unlucky not to win the cross-country chase event at the Cheltenam Festival last time, having been badly hampered at the sixteenth obstacle and being poorly positioned as a result. The form of that race is working out well, with both the winner Any Currency and the third Bless The Wings both running well back over conventional fences since, and Josies Orders looks to have a strong chance of returning to winning ways here. Bless The Wings gets a weight swing with the selection on that Cheltenham run and looks the main threat.

Alpha des Obeaux - 17:30 Punchestown

In the absence of the top-class Thistlecrack and the rerouted Vroum Vroum Mag this looks a gilt-edged opportunity for Alpha des Obeaux to register a first Grade 1 success. Alpha des Obeaux produced a career-best when beaten seven lengths by Thistlecrack in the World Hurdle when last seen, and pulled some 22 lengths clear of the third. On that form, he has a very strong chance here, and having missed Aintree, is a fresher horse than some of his main rivals. Diamond King has progressed rapidly since joining Gordon Elliot, and could be the biggest danger, though he will need to find further improvement as he steps out of handicap company.
