Timeform pick out three bets for day two of the 2016 Punchestown Festival.

"...that unfortunate incident shouldn't detract from what was a career-best effort in this sphere..."

Back Emerging Force in the 16:55

Go Darsi Go - 15:40 Punchestown

Go Darsi Go produced a career-best on his return from over 13 months off the track at Navan last time and, lightly-raced for one of his age, he remains open to more improvement with that outing under his belt. He ran a race full of promise on that occasion, making relentless headway in the closing stages to get within a little over three lengths of the winner and giving the impression he would be suited by better ground here. His young jockey seemed to get a good tune out of Go Darsi Go and the partnership are fancied to defy a 4 lb penalty with victory in what is admittedly a much stronger contest. Steamboat Bill is feared most after a determined victory at Down Royal when last seen in February.

Supasundae - 16:20 Punchestown

Supasundae wasn't disgraced when seventh in the Supreme at last month's Cheltenham Festival and he still showed better form in defeat than when previously shedding his maiden tag over hurdles at Leopardstown. He was far from fluent at his obstacles on that occasion, but should be able to get into a better rhythm over this longer trip and the useful form he showed at Cheltenham leaves his rivals with at least 3 lb to find on Timeform ratings. Any improvement should make Supasundae extremely difficult to beat here, while Woodland Opera is better than he showed at Leopardstown in January and can give the selection most to do in a race his yard has a tremendous record in.

Emerging Force - 16:55 Punchestown

Emerging Force should be coming into this race seeking a hat-trick after unseating his rider at Haydock last time, but that unfortunate incident shouldn't detract from what was a career-best effort in this sphere and he remains capable of better now returned to three miles. A winner over the trip at Doncaster in February, he had established a three length lead on the approach to the final flight last time and, while he faces a significant step up in class here, the form of that effort is right up there with the best of these. Emerging Force can take another step forward for a first success at Grade 1 level here, with Bellshill likely to prove the main danger.
