"The drop back to this trip should suit on that evidence and he appears to have a lot going for him..."

Timeform on The Fresh Prince

14:10 - JUMPING JACK (3) was ridden more aggressively than usual and ran creditably after just seven days off when second over C&D last time. That form sets a clear standard on weight-adjusted ratings here and Chris Gordon's charge looks worth backing to belatedly get off the mark over hurdles. Gothic Empire has more to offer in this sphere and looks best of the rest ahead of Crushed, who had excuses when a beaten favourite on his hurdles debut at the start of the year.

14:45 - SWEET'N'CHIC (10) ran a cracking race when second over C&D last month, held by the winner but pulling well clear of the rest. She could finally break her duck if building on that in this second leg of the Placepot, while Now Listen Here looks a big threat for the Gary Moore yard that does extremely well with its runner here, with the prospect of more to come having showed a lot more on his second go in a handicap at Fontwell last time.

15:15 - THE FRESH PRINCE (2) hinted at a revival after five months off when sixth here last time, briefly drawing clear with the winner after four out, before weakening quickly in the closing stages (did too much too soon). The drop back to this trip should suit on that evidence and he appears to have a lot going for him if building on that, with Darebin feared most of the remainder, having gone well over hurdles here in the past.

15:50 - KALASKADESEMILLEY (3) is a tentative selection after five months off in this fourth leg of the Placepot, having run well from higher marks in two appearances for Johnny Farrelly at the end of 2017. Gin And Tonic looks interesting under Wayne Hutchinson having dropped back to his last winning mark, while Brother Bennett will rightfully have his supporters again back over hurdles.

16:25 - WHOSHOTWHO (2) was well backed and looked like justifying the support for most of the journey when second at Hexham last month, enjoying an easy time of things on the front end and only losing out to an improving sort close home. A repeat of that would appear to give him every chance for the Dr Richard Newland stable here, much lower in the weights than when well held on his sole previous start in handicaps, with the in-form Charlie Hammond taking an extra 6 lb off his back, too.

16:55 - ROPARTA AVENUE (7) makes plenty of appeal back from a break in this concluding leg of the Placepot, a C&D winner who took a similar event at Fontwell on just his second run for Chris Gordon in November. King Charlie could be a player back over fences, while King Cool has a big shout with James Bowen up, having fared better with headgear fitted in a C&D event last month.

17:25 - REPRESENTED (1) defied inexperience to make a winning Rules debut at Taunton in November and should prove a tough nut to crack in the finale with plenty of improvement likely to be forthcoming. El Hageb Rose and Milldean Silva both make plenty of appeal on paper, though, and it will be interesting to see how the betting shapes up.
