Nick Shiambouros hopes to start the new week with a couple of winners from Plumpton...
"He is sure to have been well prepared for this, and will be backing him in both win and place markets"
Back Hit The Rocks half point at BSP in the 12:40 at Plumpton
Rocks a big Hit
12:40 Plumpton - Hit The Rocks
Hit The Rocks could run well at a big price in this novices' hurdle.
This Irish import beat Aasleagh Fawn in a Tramore Handicap on the level in August. He absolutely bolted up, and put in a career best in the process. Trainer Gary Moore also runs the better fancied Darkest Day in the race, but I think he could prove the better of the two. He is sure to have been well prepared for this, and will be backing him in both win and place markets.
Highway One O Two heads the market at 2.767/4 on the exchange. He shaped well in two bumpers this season and hails from an in form yard. I do not think this race will take a lot of winning, hence the short price.
Imperial to tower over rivals
13:10 Plumpton - Imperial Esprit
Imperial Esprit should prove difficult to beat in this maiden hurdle.
This Scorpion gelding finished fifth to Some Detail in a bumper at Chepstow last season. Sent off favourite, he lost his pitch two out and could only stay on at one pace. This effort was better than the result suggests, as he did not look the finished article and it was only his second run. I think he will be a different proposition this season, and is fairly priced at 2.26/5 on the exchange.
Mr Perfect should follow the selection home. He finished a fair third to Minella Tara in a bumper at Lingfield earlier this month and is entitled to improve.
