Timeform take you through Monday's card at Newton Abbot...

"He's got a 12 lb rise to contend with here, but is still likely to take some stopping if in the same mood today."

Timeform on Bandsman

14:20 - GREELAGH GIRL (7) has shown fairly useful form in bumpers so far, placing in a Mares' listed contest at Cheltenham last season. The switch to hurdling is expected to suit, and she gets the vote to make a winning start in what looks a good opportunity to do so. Inessa was useful on the Flat in Germany and is next best for Dr Richard Newland.

14:50 - BANDSMAN (2) has made the perfect start to his chasing career at Kempton last month, and scored with plenty in hand. He's got a 12 lb rise to contend with here, but is still likely to take some stopping if in the same mood today. Captain Buck's is next best on form, and isn't without a chance for the Paul Nicholls yard.

15:20 - An open race, in which OCEAN JIVE (10) looks worth including. We haven't seen him since May 2017, when he made a winning hurdling debut at Huntingdon, but it's likely there's more to come now switched to handicap company, provided he's fully tuned up after being off the track for over a year. Cultivator looks next best after scoring at Warwick last time out.

15:50 - An open race, in which IT'S OBVIOUS (2) can resume his progress. He was steadily progressive for most of last term, and a wind operation may well get him back on track, for his in-form yard. Jack Snipe is running respectably at he moment and is perhaps the biggest threat.

16:20 - Whilst BILLY MY BOY (5) didn't look a natural over fences in two starts last term, he returned to form after a six month break over hurdles when third at Ludlow last month, and receives the vote with the run likely to bring him on. Nabhan meets Global Thrill on more favourable terms this time so could reverse the form.

16:50 - FREE STONE HILL (5) is in good form at the moment, running a good race to finish second at Warwick last time out. He could be up to recording a first win over fences off his current mark. Salto Chisco and the thriving Tikkinthebox are feared most.

17:25 - POWERSTOWN PARK (2) ran a promising race at Southwell 3 weeks ago and could have more to offer in handicaps. Amour d'Or should be competitive again up 5 lb for her win here. Mauna Kea is also in with a shout.
