Timeform take you through the card at Newton Abbot on Friday...
"...is of interest returned to timber in what doesn't look the strongest race of its type..."
Timeform on No Hiding Place
14:10 - With Super Scorpion now a non runner, NO HIDING PLACE (1) looks the one to focus on. He ran well in defeat over hurdles last season and deservedly opened his account in this sphere when winning a two-mile handicap at Towcester in May. He has since been disappointing in two starts over fences, not looking likely to take to that discipline, but is of interest returned to timber in what doesn't look the strongest race of its type. The Colin Tizzard-trained Quite By Chance looks the main danger on form.
14:40 - The Philip Hobbs yard are flying at present, recording six winners from their last 10 runners and, it is no surprise to see SCOOP THE POT (2) being well supported this morning. Admittedly, he hasn't totally convinced as a chaser so far, his jumping lacking confidence somewhat, but he ran his best race to date in this sphere when fourth at Worcester last time and is worth chancing here from the same mark. Kings Temptation and Aunty Ann both arrive in good heart and are others to consider.
15:15 - ACKER BILK (1) made a very encouraging start to his hurdles career when successful in a maiden hurdle at Worcester a month ago, travelling well and leading on the bridle two out, before shaken up on the run-in to win in ready fashion. He should have even more to offer in this sphere and holds sound follow-up claims under a penalty. Casement probably didn't fulfil his potential on the level but has joined another good yard and possesses the raw ability to be a factor in this sphere.
15:45 - LADIES DANCING (13) capitalised on a reduced mark when running out a convincing winner at Stratford last time, going with plenty of zest and kicking clear in the straight, and he looks sure to make another bold bid from the front with room to manoeuvre from his reassessed mark. The in-form Rocket Ronnie will pose the biggest threat ahead of Friary Gold, who shaped nicely here on his penultimate start.
16:20 - HIGHWAY ONE O ONE (3) and Flying Tiger are closely matched on their useful hurdles form and both look good chasing prospects. However, Chris Gordon's string continue in good nick ahead of Highway One O One's return and the 6-y-o just shades the verdict in an intriguing contest.
16:55 - None of these boast massively compelling profiles and perhaps this could be the day when TEA TIME FRED (5) finally gets his head back in front. Western Sunrise is another who has found wins hard to come by but she is likely to figure if none the worse for a fall last time. Guerrilla Tactics has gone up 5 lb for his latest Stratford success but his consistent profile suggests he'll figure again.
