13:50 - AMABILIS (11) looked well worth a place in this grade when bolting up in an Ascot handicap last time from a BHA mark of 94 and, open to further improvement given her progressive profile, she looks well worth including for the Placepot here. MITTENS (15) probably found a busy spell catching up with her when disappointing on her last start (in this grade) but she could easily have more to offer having been given a short break, with Ryan Moore now taking over for the first time.

14:25 - Mori has the best form in the race, but was very disappointing on this sort of ground at York last time, so could be one to take on. FLEUR FORSYTE (6) beat the favourite that day and is clearly progressing rapidly, so looks well worth a try up in grade. At bigger prices PLEASANT SURPRISE (10) could get involved, having been a shade unlucky not to win a listed race in France last time (caught on the line by a wide fast-finishing rival when the race looked to be settled).

15:00 - Nyaleti sets the standard on her win in the Princess Margaret, but that was three starts ago and she has been below that form since. She also faces some completely unexposed a couple of really exciting prospects here in the form of GAVOTA (5) and LIGHTENING QUICK (8). The former did well to get up to win a Newmarket maiden on debut, and justified short odds in another novice at Lingfield last time. Frankel filly Lightening Quick couldn't have made a better start when running down a race-sharpened Ballydoyle rival on debut at Leopardstown and is open to significant improvement.

15:35 - SIR JOHN LAVERY (8) was a little disappointing on a couple of his earlier starts this season, but is clearly a late-maturing type and has seemingly relished the drop back to a mile on his last two starts, winning a listed race at Cork before going close in a Group 2 at Leopardstown last time when meeting trouble. He can give Aidan O'Brien and Ryan Moore back to back renewals of this race if taking another step forward here.

16:10 - A big field containing plenty of well-bred unraced sorts, but all of them will have to run huge races to get the better of COAT OF ARMS (3) should he return to the form of his Futurity Stakes second. He couldn't match that form last time when upped to Group 1 level, but has a huge experience edge over the majority of the field here, which should count for plenty.

16:45 - Though it's tempting to take on the slightly quirky FRONTIERSMAN (2), he has by far the best piece of form in this race (second in the Group 1 Coronation Cup earlier this season) and should have too much class for his rivals here now down in grade significantly.

17:20 - He's a short enough price but Fire Brigade does look to have outstanding chances here, having improved to run a pattern-class horse close at Ascot last time. He's 5 lb ahead of his mark, and should make that count today. The unexposed three-year-old Addeybb probably has more to offer, while at a bigger price Archie could run well, having endured a troubled passage at Newbury last time.

Recommendation:

Win back AMABILIS in the 13:50 at Newmarket

14:25 - 6, 10
