17:35 - GLENYS THE MENACE (8) has been well supported this morning on his first start against older horses and with some solid efforts in three-year-old handicaps - particularly at Lingfield last time, where she chased home subsequent winner Cribbs Causeway and was well clear of the rest - it is easy to see why. Twenty Times may want it a bit softer, and Duchy could be the danger if she is ready to go after a long break.

18:10 - QUIVERY (1) looked a good prospect when winning on debut at Doncaster last time, pulling clear of the pack with a well-bred Godolphin horse, and he looks the one to beat here even under a 7 lb penalty for that success.

18:40 - Turning Gold will be popular under a penalty for his romp at Yarmouth last time but RIGOLETTO (1) represents a yard with a 40% strike-rate in the last two weeks, and could well make it two from two in handicaps here, having won with a bit in hand over C&D three weeks ago.

19:10 - Duke of Firenze looks the pick of the weights here but whether he will be as effective in this sort of environment compared to the hustle and bustle of a big-field sprint handicap is a question. ORNATE (5) is opposable at listed level these days (held in fifth on his last start, which came in the company) but he does drop in class here and that could see him go close, with his front-running style a good fit for this track. He isn't the easiest to win with but can make the places under Ryan Moore.

19:45 - This is tricky. RAVEN'S LADY (7) benefited from the drop back to six furlongs here last time, having been too free to do herself justice over 7f/1m earlier in the season. She should have more to offer now taking on her elders, as should CLON COULIS (11), who won a five-runner maiden at Carlisle in good style on debut.

20:15 - Pretty Asset is wearing the Godolphin blue cap and is the choice of William Buick here so is presumably well regarded by connections. Her stablemate SONG MAKER (8) sets the standard, however, and is the safer choice for Placepot purposes.

20:45 - African Blessing is fairly unexposed at this trip, having only had three goes beyond six furlongs before, and he is worth another chance to build on his win over seven furlongs at Doncaster earlier in the season (quite strong form). He was too keen last time and Jamie Spencer is a positive booking with this in mind.

Placepot permutation:

17:35 - 8
18:10 - 1
18:40 - 1
19:10 - 5
19:45 - 7, 11
20:15 - 8
