Timeform's Andrew Asquith highlights a Nap, Next Best and Each-Way selection at Newcastle on Friday.
"A subsequent 2 lb rise very much underestimates him and he is a strong fancy to follow up..."
NAP
Magicdollar - 17:40 Newcastle
Magicdollar has shown improved form since entering handicaps and he recorded a career-best effort when opening his account over course and distance three weeks ago. He only won by a neck, but had much more in hand than that margin suggests, travelling well when having no room two furlongs out which caused him to be shuffled back in the pack. He was forced to switch around horses but Magicdollar picked up well, quickening to lead inside the final 100 yards to win with a bit up his sleeve. A subsequent 2 lb rise very much underestimates him and he is a strong fancy to follow up.
NEXT BEST
Spanish Angel - 20:15 Newcastle
Spanish Angel was gambled on and ended a lengthy losing run in great style over this course and distance last week, confirming the promise of his previous run. He took a strong hold but always looked comfortable and he was much superior to his rivals in the closing stages, quickening clear in the style of a horse well ahead of his mark in the closing stages. Spanish Angel is ahead of his mark turned out under a 5 lb penalty and a similar performance will see him hard to beat.
