Timeform take you through the card at Newcastle on Tuesday evening.
"...it’s interesting that top connections are persevering with him..."
17:40 - VOLPONE JELOIS (4) is proving very consistent on the all-weather, finishing placed in a trio of handicaps before winning a jumpers' bumper at Kempton last time, very much having the run of things in front though it was nevertheless a commanding success. He is now 1 lb lower in the weights than when last seen on the Flat and he is fancied to go close again over a trip that suits. Bal de Rio is another who usually gives his running and he has to be feared returning to this sphere on a fair mark, while Leodis still has low mileage so may yet do better.
18:10 - This looks an open handicap and it could be worth siding with LINGANNO FELICE (5) who took a step back in the right direction over this C&D last time and his mark continues to slide. He has been dropped 2 lb in the weights since, and has a capable claimer taking a further 5 lb off, so is weighted to go close if building on that. Corton Lad, Rainbow Rebel and Sam Missile all merit consideration.
18:40 - This doesn't look the strongest of races and GHOSTLY ARC (6) could be able to follow up his C&D win last time. He beat Weather Front by a head that day, travelling well and showing a good attitude to hold on. Ghostly Arc has shown better form still in the past and, though he isn't one to set your watch by, he has to be considered off just a 1 lb higher mark.
19:10 - AMULETUM (3) should strip fitter for her recent stable debut over this C&D earlier this month, not knocked about behind a couple of potentially useful sorts, and is expected to open her account now. An opening mark of 65 looks more than fair for this well-bred filly, and she should prove too strong for the consistent Dose who can finish placed again.
19:40 - SAMHARRY (2) won a well-contested maiden at Doncaster on his debut in 2016 and, though he flopped when well supported on his return from over a year off at Chelmsford in December, it's interesting that top connections are persevering with him. That was only his second career start, and will have likely learned plenty from that, and is fully expected to resume winning ways for a yard that have an excellent record with their runners at this track.
20:10 - LUCKY LUCKY MAN (1) showed plenty of verve when easily winning a Carlisle nursery when last seen and can make a successful return. Al Shaqab have stuck with their expensive Breeze-Ups buy Bustam over the winter and he could pick up a race.
