16:10 - STARGAZER (1) proved better than ever to resume winning ways over C&D last month, scoring by a length but deserving of extra credit given his position, having to weave through the field and winning with more in hand than the margin would suggest. He looks a contender for the Marathon on All-Weather Finals Day on the back of that considering his solid record on the AW, and switched back into handicap company, he can make light of top weight and follow up here.
16:45 - REY LOOPY (3) is at the top of his game at the moment, running with credit in his bid to complete a double from a 4 lb higher mark when finishing second at Newcastle 10 days ago. He did well considering how the race developed, proving to be a muddling contest with very little pace, and considering the form he's in at the moment, he looks worth chancing off 1 lb higher this evening to return to winning ways.
17:15 - STRAIGHT RIGHT (1) wasn't seen to best effect at Lingfield last time, being held up against a rival who was provided with an aggressive ride, to the point where second was the best he could hope for. He is a smart performer, however, and he is fancied to make his class tell now switched back to handicap company - considering he won a hot race on his only previous visit here. Pinnata has thrived on polytrack and is the main danger if able to transfer that to tapeta.
17:45 - ENCORE D'OR (1) is a fine performer in this sphere, and he finished last year in fine form, picking up wins at Leicester and Yarmouth respectively before finishing second in a Group 3 contest at Dundalk in October. Switched back into a conditions race, he looks the pick of the weights and is difficult to oppose considering his tactical speed and solid strike rate on the All-Weather. He should be a tough nut to crack, and can score at the expense of Stone of Destiny and Tropics, who both need considering.
18:15 - ROYAL PROSPECT (4) is 2-3 over six furlongs here, having failed to complete a hat-trick at the beginning of the month. He ran respectably that day, but it perhaps came a little too soon just 5 weeks after a long absence. He remains on a good mark, and return to winning ways provided the drop back to the minimum trip doesn't inconvenience him too much. Fendale is just 1 lb higher than when landing a competitive York handicap last summer and is the main threat to the selection.
18:45 - HAVANA ROCKET (1) is a useful-looking colt, and he has improved with each of his three starts to date, most recently when finishing third at Ffos Las back in September. He sets a clear form standard, and will be difficult to beat after a wind operation provided he's ready to go after a 128-day absence. Solar Park made a positive start over C&D at the beginning of the month, and can give the selection something to think about if able to build on that.
19:15 - BRIYOUNI (4) resumed winning ways in comfortable fashion at Kempton 13 days ago, making good headway from two furlongs out and well on top at the line. Raised 5 lb for that, he looks to still be on a good mark, particularly considering that the runner-up has advertised the form since, and he will take some stopping. Gun Case shaped well over this C&D last month and is feared most.
19:45 - AVENUE OF STARS (10) is running well at the moment, and put in a good shift to finish third over C&D 10 days ago, shaping better than the bare result having done too much too soon racing into a headwind. He's been eased 1 lb for that, and has excellent claims of taking this. Epeius could easily get back on track away from fibresand, with course-regular Rock Warbler completing the shortlist.
