Timeform take you through the card at Newcastle on Friday evening, which is due to be shown live on ITV...
"...he looks well capable of getting off the mark provided the well-bred Surya doesn't take a big leap forward."
Timeform on Artarmon
17:45 - ARTARMON (1) might not be the most straightforward of types, playing up before his most recent run at Sandown three weeks ago when fourth. For all that though, he shaped well from a long way back that day in what was a strong race and, with this track sure to play to his strengths (often held up), he looks well capable of getting off the mark provided the well-bred Surya doesn't take a big leap forward. Quantatmental is the clear third choice.
18:20 - LETMESTOPYOUTHERE (9) potentially has a stone in hand based on his rating from last season and took a firm step back in the right direction on debut for Michael Bell last time out, keeping on well to finish third. He should take a major hand if building on that performance, and gets the vote to score in an open contest. Uncle Charlie is thriving and Katheefa was successful (from the same mark) on his last visit to the track, so it won't be plain sailing.
18:55 - TWO FOR TWO (3) has presumably been working his way back to full fitness, looking like he was on a handy mark when finishing fourth at Ripon three weeks ago, and he now looks primed to capitalise on a lower AW mark for a stable in scintillating form. Party Fears Too is going the right way and warrants strong consideration along with Rey Loopy, who will benefit from the return to this surface.
19:30 - BARRINGTON (12) had little to spare at the line when winning at Nottingham two weeks ago, but he went through the race like one comfortably ahead of his mark, so a 4 lb rise might not be enough to stop him from following up, particularly as he's still lightly raced for Mick Appleby. Atletico is a danger if he's not too inconvenienced by being drawn on the flank, while Dakota Gold appeals as the type to benefit from a first-time hood.
20:05 - MAGNOLIA SPRINGS (8) looked classy when making a winning debut last term and, while she didn't build on it immediately, the way she forged clear in a listed race at Goodwood in May suggests that she's well capable of the step up to this grade, particularly as it doesn't look like the strongest of Group 3s. Maid To Remember is another likely improver and Smart Call sets the standard on what's been achieved.
20:40 - A tricky race to decode, with so little form on offer. However, newcomer ALGAFFAAL (1) is not only bred to be above average, but should be well equipped to deal with tapeta at the first time of asking, so he could be the one to beat in what might be a strong race. £250,000 yearling Mubhij showed plenty of ability on debut and looks the biggest danger.
21:10 - RIVERSIDE WALK (7) confirmed the positives from her first two starts this season when opening her account at Redcar last month, first-time cheekpieces/forceful tactics seemingly the catalyst. She's likely to go well again now up and running and is fancied to follow up. Oriental Lilly is enjoying a highly-productive 2018 and is feared however, whilst Savannah Beau is also worth keeping an eye on.
