"...there's good reason to think he can follow up under a penalty provided this is run at a sound gallop."

Timeform on Harbour Approach

17:45 - JOIE DE VIVRE (7) is bred to be better than she's shown so far and shaped as if in need of a true pace at this sort of trip when an encouraging third at Musselburgh on handicap debut, so expect a chunk of improvement from her to get the better of fellow 3-y-o Special Mission and the thriving Island Song, who both boast solid claims in their own right.

18:15 - ANOTHER ANGEL (5) ran another good race when fourth over C&D last week and with that being his best effort of the season, he is taken to open his account with a promising rider up. Ballynarry Lady is dangerous to discount, while Cherry Oak wasn't seen to best effect behind Brendan here at the start of the month and should do better now.

18:45 - MUSHARRIF (5) has very much refound his form of late and can continue the good work having run well on his sole previous visit here. Ninjago is another who arrives on the back of some good recent efforts, while James Tate does very well with his runners at this venue and Bidding War, who reacted positively to blinkers last time, is much less exposed than most of her rivals here.

19:15 - HARBOUR APPROACH (1) did well to get off the mark last time considering he pulled hard and wasn't ideally placed, so there's good reason to think he can follow up under a penalty provided this is run at a sound gallop. Gun Case is another one who's sure to be involved in a truly-run race and Ebbisham is expected to bounce back from a poor run.

19:45 - MYWAYISTHEONLYWAY (4) is becoming well treated, he's now 4 lb lower than his last winning mark, and could be worth another chance having attracted support when disappointing last time - particularly considering that he was awkward leaving the stalls. Muatadel arrives in good heart and is next best ahead of Grey Destiny.

20:15 - EQUIANO SPRINGS (3) is back in good nick judged on his Beverley third, looking as if he had rediscovered a competitive chord again, and can maintain his unbeaten record at Newcastle. Moxy Mares is a big player having run a cracker in a useful Haydock handicap last time. Mon Beau Visage is shaping as if he'll strike again soon also.

20:45 - SILK MILL BLUE (7) was impressive when opening his account over C&D 3 weeks ago, noticeably tanking through the race and ultimately well on top at the finish. A 4 lb rise may well underestimate him on that evidence, and he can follow up. Summer Thunder caught the eye at Kempton and is feared, along with Great Colaci.

21:15 - George Scott's gelding CRASH HELMET (1) can make it third time lucky here after two decent efforts on the AW already, with the promise of better to come. He's taken here to get the better of Go Roo and Equidae who are a bit more exposed, but have shown a fair level of form also.
