13:20 - BUFFER ZONE (4) made appeal on paper and shaped with plenty of promise on debut at Salisbury last month, left poorly placed in the rear given how the race panned out and only really getting the hang of things late on, mainly for hand riding. He seems sure to improve for that experience and is fancied to open his account.

13:50 - This looks a maiden with depth, but it is hard to get away from the claims of BESHAAYIR (10) who nearly made a winning debut over this C&D last month. She is clearly held in some regard, still having entries for the Rockfel and Cheveley Park Stakes, and it will be disappointing if she isn't able to win today.

14:25 - It's fair to say that everyone expected RUNNING CLOUD (3) progress into a useful performer given the impression he made when winning on debut at Wolverhampton in June. For whatever reason, Running Cloud hasn't reproduced that effort in his two subsequent starts, but he has been gelded since last seen in July, and he looks fairly treated now making his nursery debut. The step up to seven furlongs will suit on breeding, and it's too early to be giving up on this nicely-bred juvenile.

14:55 - On the face of it, DANEHILL KODIAC (2) has work to do with Wild Hacked on their Kempton clash a fortnight ago, but the latter is probably better on the all-weather, and a well-run race over this trip will certainly play to the former's strengths, so he is taken to reverse the form. Minotaur was an expensive purchase from France and may have more to offer in this sphere before reverting back to timber.

15:30 - WHITE MOCHA (2) progressed as expected from his debut success despite finding one too good at Salisbury earlier this month, crucially still looking rough around the edges, and shaping like the best prospect in the race. He remains capable of better and is fancied to get the better of standard-setter Macaque, though Bon Scotte also needs a mention.

16:00 - PRINCESS DE LUNE (11) attracted support and looked a good prospect when making a winning debut over this C&D in April, and that race has worked out well with both the second and third winning next time. It's obviously a concern that we haven't seen her since, but Roger Charlton has a good record with horses returning from a break. This does look a deep race, but with the potential for much better on just her second start, she is worth chancing.

16:35 - With the likely-looking newcomer Hadith now a non-runner, the one to focus on is LAMYA (4), who left her debut form well behind when winning at Windsor last time, confirming the promise shown at Newmarket on her debut. She remains open to further improvement and is taken to make it two wins from three starts.

17:05 - CRUSHED (16) resumed his progress to land his first handicap win at Windsor last time under this rider, settling better under more positive tactics and showing a willing attitude under pressure. The fourth in that race has already come out and franked the form, and a subsequent 6 lb rise could well underestimate him.
