Timeform take you through the card at Musselburgh on Thursday evening.
18:10 - LONGROOM (1) was disappointing when down the field on his most recent outing at Redcar in October, but has been given plenty of time to recover from those exertions and deserves another chance to confirm the promise of his earlier victory over this C&D. That form gives him the edge over Lizzy's Dream on Timeform ratings and, with the possibility of more to come after just nine starts, Longroom looks the one to beat here and is fancied to continue trainer Noel Wilson's fine form of late (three winners from his last seven runners).
18:40 - DAN TROOP (2) ran creditably when fifth on his handicap debut at Wolverhampton in November and returns from over five months off the track in what doesn't look the strongest race of its kind here. Indeed, he could yet have more to offer now stepping up to seven furlongs and, having been gelded since that latest outing, Dan Troop is fancied to see off the attentions of the newcomer Gloriosus and makes the most appeal for Placepot purposes.
19:10 - ZESHOV (4) looked in need of the outing when seventh on his seasonal debut at Pontefract last month, travelling smoothly into contention as the field entered the final two furlongs and only weakening once the lack of a recent run began to tell close home. He certainly showed enough to suggest he remains on a fair mark at present and shades the vote from Vizier in this third leg of the Placepot, with the return to a sharper track expected to suit.
19:40 - THE DETAINEE (3) resumed his progress with a good second at Lingfield three weeks ago, travelling strongly in the leaders' slipstream throughout and keeping on well in the closing stages to be beaten just three-quarters of a length. The way he finished his race that day suggests the step up to this trip will be in his favour and, while the lightly-raced Sebastian's Wish is an obvious danger, The Detainee looks on a good mark and is taken to belatedly open his account for the Jeremy Gask yard.
20:10 - ROYAL BRAVE (3) regained the winning thread with a decisive victory over this C&D three weeks ago, staying on to lead deep inside the final furlong and always doing enough to hold off the challenge of the rallying runner-up thereafter. He has a 5 lb hike in the weights to contend with here, but looks sure to be thereabouts in a race where several of these have questions to answer at present and rates by far the most solid proposition with the Placepot in mind.
20:40 - TANAWAR (1) produced his best effort for some time when successful at Catterick eight days ago, travelling smoothly towards the head of affairs from the outset and finding plenty to collar the runner-up close home. He escapes a penalty for that victory here and would appear to hold sound claims if arriving in the same form. Isntshesomething has finished second in each of her two starts since winning at Chelmsford in March and can give the selection most to do in this concluding leg of the Placepot.
