Nick Shiambouros hopes to start the week with a couple of winners from Lingfield and Windsor...
"This colt put in a much improved effort when finishing second to Quiet Waters at Lingfield earlier this month"
Back Dandy Lad in the 18:05 at Windsor
Serj to boss field
15:20 Lingfield - Serjeant Painter
Serjeant Painter sets the standard in this contest.
This gelding was a little disappointing when finishing down the field behind Maypole at Chepstow in May. He held every chance two furlongs from home but weakened quickly, and ran as if something was amiss. He is best judged on his previous effort when finishing sixth to Hidden Affair at Goodwood. Hopefully he can return to form after his two month freshening. At present he is trading at 5.49/2 on the exchange which is more than fair.
Althaaqib has failed to build on his promising debut at Kempton in June. He has been soundly beaten on his last two starts and has something to prove now. He represents poor value at his current price of 3.39/4 on the exchange.
A fine Lad
18:05 Windsor - Dandy Lad
Dandy Lad should go close in this maiden.
This colt put in a much improved effort when finishing second to Quiet Waters at Lingfield earlier this month. He attempted to make all the running, but was collared a furlong from home and did well to hold on to the runner-up position. Further improvement is expected, and is attractively priced at 4.03/1 on the exchange.
Across The Sea is the current favourite at 3.8514/5 on the exchange. This well related filly holds a Lowther entry, but disappointed on her latest start behind Firelight. Providing she can settle better she may be a factor.
