12.30 Silly Moo Sussex Cider Maiden Hurdle (4) 2½m114y

Timeform Top Rated:
141p 1. ACEY MILAN Anthony Honeyball Aidan Coleman
136 8. KAPDAD Gary Moore Jamie Moore
126 10. PARSONAL Sarah Humphrey Nick Scholfield

Analyst's Verdict:
Acey Milan was one of the leading bumper performers last season, and though it was a shade disappointing that he couldn't land the odds on his hurdles bow at Ffos Las, he's well worth another chance to build on that. Breaking News shaped well at Cheltenham and is a useful recruit to this sphere in his own right, with Kapdad perhaps best of the rest.

1.00 Sky Sports Racing Novices' Chase (3) 2m214y

Timeform Top Rated:
159P 1. KALASHNIKOV Amy Murphy Jack Quinlan
147p 6. ENVOYE SPECIAL Paul Nicholls Harry Cobden

Analyst's Verdict:
Kalashnikov's jumping improved as the race wore on starting out over fences at Warwick last month and he's sure to derive plenty from that, so he will continue to take some stopping in this division. Envoye Special receives weight all round and has joined Paul Nicholls, so he should keep Amy Murphy's charge honest.

1.30 Tysers Mares' Handicap Hurdle (3) 3m217y

Timeform Top Rated:
128 5. ROYAL CLARET Tom Symonds Ben Poste
126? 1. WISHICOULD Charlie Mann Harry Teal (7)
124 3. OSCAR STAR Jamie Snowden Page Fuller (3)

Analyst's Verdict:
The one who appeals most is Royal Claret, who went close in a more competitive race than this on return at Chepstow and, with just half-a-dozen runs over hurdles to her name, there may well be better to come from this 6-y-o. Wishicould was progressive as a novice and will be a big threat if fit enough to do herself justice following a lengthy absence. Oscar Star is the pick of the remainder.

2.00 Cranbrook Underwriting's Bob Katzaros Celebration Novices' Hurdle (4) 1m7f195y

Timeform Top Rated:
129p 8. EMPREINTE RECONCE Colin Tizzard Aidan Coleman
124 2. DUC DE BEAUCHENE David Pipe Tom Scudamore
123 9. AUDORA Anthony Honeyball Richie McLernon

Analyst's Verdict:
Empreinte Reconce has already scored over hurdles and should be spot on after a solid return effort at Chepstow last month. She can land the spoils here. Rosy World and Audora head the list of dangers.

2.30 Tysers Handicap Chase (4) 3m1f152y

Timeform Top Rated:
123 2. CABRAGH Charlie Mann Daryl Jacob
122 9. THE TIN MINER David Bridgwater Tom Cannon
118p 3. CHEQUE EN BLANC Gary Moore Jamie Moore

Analyst's Verdict:
Cabragh has dropped to an attractive mark and shaped as if retaining all his ability when a staying-on fifth at Exeter on his reappearance last month. He makes plenty of appeal. Recent course winner Cheque En Blanc could have more to give over fences and is feared most, whilst Sartorial Elegance could also make his presence felt.

3.00 Sky Sports Racing Sussex National 6th January Handicap Hurdle (5) 1m7f195y

Timeform Top Rated:
111 3. CASSIVELLAUNUS Gary Moore Jamie Moore
110 8. GOLDEN CANNON Sheena West Marc Goldstein
109 5. HIGHWAY STAR Sarah Humphrey Nick Scholfield

Analyst's Verdict:
A chance is taken on Cassivellaunus, who clearly wasn't 100% when pulled up here when last seen in May. He landed a deep-ground handicap at this venue off a similar mark earlier in the year. Seaweed failed to get his head in front in Ireland but showed enough at Fontwell to make him of interest, while Highway Star also has claims. Conditions may be against recent course-winner Golden Cannon.

3.30 Back Yard Coffee Intermediate Open National Hunt Flat (5) 2m1f164y

Timeform Top Rated:
107 9. ON THE SLOPES Chris Gordon Tom Cannon
98 8. OFFICERNISI Seamus Mullins Kevin Jones (3)

Analyst's Verdict:
This can go to a newcomer, with the mare Escort'namix making most appeal before market clues. Eden du Houx is another to consider, while On The Slopes could go close if building on his first run for Chris Gordon at Fontwell.
