Birch Grove - Wolverhampton 15:30
Birch Grove ran well when fourth on her handicap debut over C&D earlier this month despite not being seen to best effect, looking as though she would have benefited from a stronger pace. She's open to more improvement yet, and gets the nod to reverse the form with Vampish now on 3 lb better terms with that particular rival. Gemini caught the eye at Pontefract last time out and is also on the shortlist.
Bigshotte - Wolverhampton 16:05
This is particularly low level stuff, and while the race appears tricky to decode at first glance, the four-year-old Bigshotte catches the eye. He showed only modest form in three starts as a three-year-old last year, but those runs were not without promise, and he arrives here on the back of wind surgery. He's bred to be better than he's shown so far (brother to 1¼m winner Whoopsy Daisy and half-brother to several winners, including Home Office) and it would be no surprise should he do better now switched into handicap company. Muraadef, Little Miss Daisy and Shamlan head up the dangers.
Mokammal - Wolverhampton 16:35
Mokammal made a really promising start to his career when finishing second at Leicester last October, splitting a pair of more-experienced rivals who set a good standard, and he will be difficult to beat here with that run under his belt. Indeed, he gave the firm impression that he would progress and win plenty of races, and now embarking on this three-year-old campaign, he gets the vote to take this. Sea Sculpture and Poetic Era are fancied to battle it out for minor honours.
