Nick Shiambouros hopes to end his current stint in the tipping chair with a couple of winners from Ludlow and Kempton...
"She finished second in this race last year and represents super value at 16.015/1 on the exchange"
13:40 Ludlow - Colonial Dreams
Colonial Dreams should make his presence felt in this novices' hurdle.
This gelding bolted up in a bumper at Southwell in the spring. He took the lead four furlongs from home, and pulled away to win with any amount in hand. Trainer Nicky Henderson appears to have found the perfect opportunity for him to get off the mark over hurdles and is reasonably priced at 2.285/4 on the Exchange.
Robin The Raven is the second choice at 3.02/1. He has disappointed the last twice and has regressed since winning a couple of races last spring. He needs to bounce back to trouble the selection, especially as he has to concede weight.
14:00 Kempton - Rons Dream
I am going to take a chance with Rons Dream in this mares only Listed race.
One thing is certain this consistent mare will get every yard of the extended three mile trip. Last month on her seasonal reappearance she ran creditably when finishing fourth to The New One at Ffos Las over two miles. She put in some good work in the closing stages, and was running on strongly at the finish. She finished second in this race last year and represents super value at 16.015/1 on the exchange.
Irish raider Jers Girl is the short priced favourite at 2.466/4. She has rock solid credentials but is unproven at the trip. This Grade 1 winning mare is the clear form pick but her price is a little short for me.
