Nick Shiambouros struck again yesterday when his best bet Vision Des Flos won. Nick hopes to start the new week with a couple of winners from Ayr and Plumpton...
"She has to carry a penalty today, but I think she is open to a fair bit of improvement"
Lass to progress
13:50 Ayr - Leverock Lass
Leverock Lass is well worth an interest in the place market in this novices' hurdle.
This mare put in a much improved effort when beating Jessiemac over this course last month. She had the race in safekeeping on the run to the last, and coasted home to win with plenty in hand. She has to carry a penalty today, but I think she is open to a fair bit of improvement. At present she is trading at 3.412/5 in the place market which is more than fair.
Western Honour represents high profile connections and should appreciate the return to novice company. He has the form in the book to take this, but looks short enough at 2.3211/8 on the exchange.
Sofa to fly
15:00 Plumpton - The Flying Sofa
This looks like the perfect opportunity for The Flying Sofa to get off the mark over hurdles.
This gelding finished second to Acey Milan over this course earlier this month. He was collared on the run-in but, kept on really well and was only just denied. He is improving with racing and sets the standard in this interesting race. At present he is trading at 2.3411/8 on the exchange.
Pentland Hills is the solid second choice at 2.89/5 on the exchange. He was a decent handicapper for Chris Wall and makes his debut for Nicky Henderson. He is the obvious danger, but I think the selection will have his measure.
