Timeform pick out three bets from Turffontein on Monday.
Distant Call - 11:30 (BST) Turffontein
Distant Call is up against some well-bred newcomers here but there is no substitute for experience, and the Geoff Woodruff-trained filly was a good length second to La Bastide here on the Standside course last time. She does seem to be taking her time to get the hang of things and was sent off at 10/1 that day, but she looks the one to beat now with that experience under her belt.
Arpad - 13:50 (BST) Turffontein
Arpad has been dropped another 2 lb by the handicapper after his five and a half-length fifth to Pachoco here over this trip earlier in the month. Interestingly, his last win was over this C&D off exactly this rating back in February in similar company and there is every reason to think he can repeat that victory here, with Callan Murray tasked with steering Arpad home as he did then.
Vul Indela - 15:30 (BST) Turffontein
Vul Indela is no world-beater but has been in good form of late, following her maiden win here with a length third over a mile and a half, and a five length fourth last time. Left on the same rating of 51 this afternoon, she will need to repeat her better efforts to come home in front, but this isn't much of a race and it looks as if Vul Indela has every chance of win number two for trainer Leon Erasmus.
