RIO QUINTO isn't without his flaws (has shown signs of temperament), but he jumped with aplomb when making a winning start over fences at Lingfield and could take some pegging back if in a similar mood. Westland Row, on the other hand, needs to improve in that department and the selection may have most to fear from the hat-trick seeking Dandy Dan, who can be expected to make this a true test with stamina seemingly his forte.

LIOSDUIN BHEARNA - 16:25 Ayr

LIOSDUIN BHEARNA shaped encouragingly when second on his most recent outing at Chepstow, dropping out in the early stages, before staying on strongly to gain two places close home (no match for the winner). That form received a boost when the winner followed up in a competitive handicap on Saturday, and Liosduin Bhearna would appear to hold sound claims of making a successful handicap debut of his own here; he certainly looks on a fair mark, behind only Irish raider Three Kings on weight-adjusted ratings, while the fine form of the Fergal O'Brien yard is an ongoing recommendation.

HIGHWAY COMPANION - 17:00 Ayr

HIGHWAY COMPANION showed plenty of ability when second on his Rules debut at Haydock, sticking to his task well to be beaten only a length, with the pair well clear of the remainder. That form is working out well, with the third winning next-time-out, and nominal improvement here should be good enough to see Highway Companion take care of Gordon Elliott's C&D winner Arion Sky. Nickolson hails from a yard with an impressive 25% strike-rate in bumpers and he'd also very much enter the reckoning if the betting speaks in his favour.
