Alan's best bet of the day went in at Exeter yesterday making it three out of three profitable days. He is looking to keep the run going at Kempton this afternon...
"Last time out Presenting Arms beat Rayvin Black, who went on to finish second in the Imperial Cup and now has a rating of 134, by six lengths"
Harry Fry runs his eight-year-old Presenting Arms at Kempton today over two miles in a conditional jockeys race. On board is Liam Mckenna claiming 8lbs, who just joined the team in August and has already rode two winners. The yard are in fine form as they showed at Ascot on Saturday when stable star Rock On Ruby completed a hat-trick of winners on the card for the team.
Presenting Arms has already won at Kempton on his previous two visits, last time beating Rayvin Black, who went on to finish second in the Imperial Cup and now has a rating of 134, by six lengths. The problem is that race was almost a year ago and Presenting Arms hasn't seen a track since. However, he has proved before that he can go well returning from a long break, he broke his maiden tag here after a 348 day break and won at Wincanton after a 194 day break.
With the Fry team in such good from and available at 4/1, I think it is worth taking a chance on his fitness.
Brain Power makes his hurdling debut for Nicky Henderson in the opener at Kempton, he was last seen in a grade two bumper at Aintree on the Friday of the National meeting. He was well backed that day going off the third favourite at 6/1, but he did finish well down the field in 10th.
This novice hurdle over two miles could be just the start for this horse, Nicky Henderson is quoted as saying "We put him away after Aintree and he has schooled well and is ready for his novice hurdle campaign. He could be a very exciting horse."
The main danger in the race could come from the man mentioned above Harry Fry. The Fry team run Air Horse One who ran a cracking race at Cheltenham last time only beaten a length, the horse that finished third that day High Bridge come out and won at Huntingdon on Saturday. But when Nicky Henderson says he could be excited about a horse, I think you have to at least give it a chance, even if it gets beat today it may still be one to be on the right side of in the future.
