Timeform pick out their three best bets from Ballinrobe on Monday...
"He is lurking on a dangerous mark..."
Timeform on Marlborough Sounds
Eastern Racer - 17:35 Ballinrobe
Eastern Racer is a classy sort for this level and is taken to bounce back from a rare poor run last time. He will find this test much easier and is preferred to his stablemate Stormy Air, who was third in similar company last time and is likely to have a say under Seamie Heffernan, while Grove Hill won't be too far away if she reproduces the form she showed in a maiden here last time.
Mater Matuta - 18:05 Ballinrobe
This doesn't look the strongest race of its type and Mater Matuta, who pulled out a bit of improvement when third to a useful sort at Naas last time, looks the one to beat. A reproduction of that effort should suffice in this company and she is taken to get the better of Scorched Earth, who will be a threat if bouncing back to anywhere near his best form, while Dermot Weld's Proxy was green on debut but could prove a different proposition with that experience behind her.
Marlborough Sounds - 20:10 Ballinrobe
This looks wide open and a chance is taken on Marlborough Sounds, who shaped as though coming back to the boil when fifth in a big-field at the Curragh last time. He is lurking on a dangerous mark and has conditions in his favour. Khudha was runner-up here on his latest Flat start and is next on the list. Greenpanda, Melburnian and Vitudurum are others to consider.
