Nick Shiambouros hopes to start the new week with a couple of winners from Plumpton and Leicester...
"I thought that was an excellent effort, and should be a lot sharper over today’s longer trip"
Mab Dab should go close in this long distance event.
This lightly raced individual ran well on his seasonal reappearance when finishing third to The Game Is A Foot over this course earlier this month. He held every chance three flights from home, but failed to quicken when the pace lifted. I thought that was an excellent effort, and should be a lot sharper over today's longer trip. At present he is trading at [4.8] on the exchange which is more than fair.
Roparta Avenue is the current favourite at [3.0]. He was a game winner at Fontwell last time out, but is not entirely straightforward. His running style suggests he will trade bigger in running.
Speed Company is an interesting recruit to the winter game.
This gelding was a very good handicapper on the level and was rated 98 at the end of the turf season. Trainer John Quinn does well with these types, and is bound to have him well prepared for his hurdles debut. I do not think this race will take a lot of winning, and should prove difficult to beat if taking to hurdling. At present he is trading at [2.9] on the exchange.
Melangerie is the main danger. This dual bumper winner was a little disappointing on his hurdles debut when finishing fourth to All Currencies at Worcester last month. It is premature to write him off. but has something to prove and represents poor value at [2.54] on the exchange.
