13:55 - Hatcher is clearly talented but does have his quirks (has hung under pressure and can race freely) so could be one to take on as a short-priced favourite in the first race. Magic Dancer has joined Kerry Lee but did have plenty of chances for Charlie Longsdon, and the one to be with could be SGROPPINO (9), who has one bit of very strong bumper form from last season. He chased home Misterton - who has improved plenty since - on debut, having a whole host of winners in behind him, and seemed to be unsuited by heavy ground on his next start at Newbury. Now back on a better surface today, he should go well.
14:30 - Not the most convincing bunch, and even though the favourite Fly Home Harry ran well last time, it was probably a little disappointing that he couldn't win (well backed in a weak race). There are several lurking on good marks here, including FLASHJACK (1), who has Richard Johnston back on board and is taking a big drop in grade/the weights. He ended last season poorly, perhaps losing confidence following a fall on chasing debut, but he may well build on that earlier promise having had a break.
15:00 - Neither Kapstadt nor Robinshill took particularly well to chasing on their first attempts, and this could boil down to a match between VALHALLA (1) and Darebin. Both shaped as if they would come on for their reappearances and both are on workable handicap marks, though the former - proven over further than this - could be seen to slightly better effect if getting an aggressive ride from the front as he did when defying this mark over hurdles at two miles last term.
15:35 - DRINKS INTERVAL (1) won a weak race at Newton Abbot on hurdling debut last time, but she did it in the style of one who would be well suited by a step up in trip, so with that in mind, she can go well under a penalty today. CHILLI FILLI (4) has some of the best bumper form in the race (won at Bangor in May), and can do best of the hurdling debutants.
16:05 - Zac Baker taking over on RAKAIA ROSA (5) makes her of interest here from 4 lb below her last winning mark, and she is worth including along with LINED WITH SILVER (7), who shaped well on her return to action last time at Towcester and also remains on an interesting mark on her best form.
16:35 - Very hard to oppose BANDITRY (2), who has been given a very workable opening handicap mark in this sphere based on his impressive novice win last time and on his Flat form (rated in the high-90s in that sphere). Like many from his yard, he looks set to mix it well between both codes, and should double up here.
