"He won a good Doncaster novice last month and fared well when third behind Global Citizen and Scarlet Dragon in the Dovecote at Kempton just 16 days later."

Timeform on Michael's Mount

14:30 - MICHAEL'S MOUNT's (1) form has a strong look to it and he should prove hard to beat. He won a good Doncaster novice last month and fared well when third behind Global Citizen and Scarlet Dragon in the Dovecote at Kempton just 16 days later. The former Sir Mark Prescott-trained Veiled Secret, who wasn't given a hard time when fifth on his hurdling debut at Doncaster, is the clear pick of the remainder.

15:00 - A poor turnout, and TREE OF LIBERTY (1) is impossible to oppose as he is in a different league to his two limited rivals. A clear round will be more than good enough.

15:35 - DANS LE VENT (1) was third in a hot little race for the track at Market Rasen last time, and he edges the vote on that piece of form. His trainer had a double at Chepstow yesterday and this proven course winner is fancied to see off Stage Summit and Silver Kayf who look the principal threats. The latter is most respected, having won well at Huntingdon two starts back, however his best form has come on a quicker surface than he faces today.

16:10 - With Space Oddity out, TORNADO IN MILAN (4) gets the nod. He got off the mark for the season at Fontwell last time and is still well-treated on old form despite a 5 lb rise in the weights. His biggest danger is likely to be top weight Just Cameron who has been given a break since disappointing at Wetherby last time.

16:45 - Better could have been expected last time from OPENING BATSMAN (2) in this sphere given he was showing useful form in regulation handicaps around this time last year, but he now sports his usual headgear and he should take some stopping now stepped back up in trip. With a return to this track likely to suit him, Real Milan is offered as second choice, but an on-song Mr Mercurial - who makes his reappearance today - would be a danger, also.

17:15 - An interesting handicap of its type, with the narrow vote in favour of ALL IS GOOD (8). Robin Dickin's charge was an impressive winner at Hereford in January, the manner of that victory suggesting further success is in the offing. Birch Hill had yet to be asked for his effort when coming to grief in the Imperial Cup and is feared, while Night of Sin and FLASHING GLANCE (5) are also worth a second look. The latter is included in perms here, a creditable third to Silver Streak in a handicap at Chepstow last time (had wind op since), and his trainer's only runner on the card.

17:45 - HERECOMESTHEBOOM struggled in a listed bumper at Ascot at Christmas but had previously created a fine impression when winning at Cheltenham and is worth another chance to get back on track. Inheritance Thief shouldn't be far away again if ready to go after 4 months off, while Best To Come and Rouge Vif are newcomers to note.
