Timeform take you through the card at Lingfield on Saturday...
"He's a better horse on the all-weather, so his disappointing efforts on turf towards the end of last season are easily forgiven..."
13:45 - HUMBERT (3) has progressed well this winter, winning all three of his starts on the all-weather, and though this represents a step up in grade, his last win has worked out (third a winner next time out), and he looks the sort to have a bigger effort in him yet, especially if he settles better. At bigger prices CONSTANTINO (2) is also of interest, now just 1 lb above the mark he defied at Newcastle last year. He's a better horse on the all-weather, so his disappointing efforts on turf towards the end of last season are easily forgiven, while he also boasts an excellent record when fresh.
14:20 - YENSIR (6) has some good-looking form (for this sort of level) from last season when trained by Grant Tuer and, if following the pattern of so many others who have switched to the Olly Murphy yard, then he can be expected to improve on his first start for his new trainer.
14:55 - ATHLETICO (2) probably hasn't won the races he should have done this winter (got going too late on both of his last two starts), but the feeling is that he remains on a good mark when things go more his way, and though a potential lack of pace here is a minor concern, he should still win with Andrea Atzeni back in the saddle.
15:30 - William Haggas has a good recent record in this race and he saddles the class horse in HEADWAY (3) this afternoon. He sets the standard on his second in the Coventry Stakes at Royal Ascot and looks as though he is ready for the step up to this trip now (plenty of stamina in his pedigree).
16:00 - This is a weak race and ROY'S LEGACY (1) should be in the mix if continuing in the same sort of form that he has shown on his last couple of starts, now 4 lb lower than when fourth at Chelmsford last time (when under a penalty for his win at Wolverhampton).
16:35 - PORRIMA (7) improved to finish second at Newcastle last time and, with that race working out well (split two subsequent improvers), he looks the obvious selection here.
17:10 - A race rather decimated by non-runners should provide a good opportunity for Author's Dream to potentially land a four-timer, his nearest rival Mambo Dancer probably high enough in the weights now for winning some pretty lowly contests.
