"He hit the frame in a higher grade handicap than this when last seen in September, and should find this test much easier..."

Timeform on Seprani

12:20 - SEPRANI (1) is a good operator at this level, especially round here - two-time C&D winner - and he looks of interest on first start for Amy Murphy. He hit the frame in a higher grade handicap than this when last seen in September, and should find this test much easier, so is expected to go close from a good draw. Evening Attire is potentially well treated and could pose the biggest danger, while Harry Beau is also considered.

12:50 - This doesn't look the strongest race of its type, and it will be disappointing if RAHEEB (7) doesn't go close on debut. A well-bred daughter of Kodiac - who gets plenty of first-time-out winners - she cost 180,000 guineas as a foal, and is a half-sister to the very smart Extortionist, so she is bred to go a bit. Owen Burrows' two-year-olds have been going well and this looks an ideal starting point. Shining looks best of those with previous experience.

13:25 - This looks relatively competitive with the unexposed Sun Hat holding obvious claims, but it could be worth chancing TOM'S ROCK (3) on return from a break for a trainer that can get them ready. His record at Lingfield is an encouraging one - has won twice over a mile and a quarter here - and Adam Kirby, who is very good round here, retains the ride. Tom's Rock is on a good mark and could trouble the short-priced favourite.

14:00 - UNCLE JERRY (1) has clearly benefited no end from the application of blinkers, following up last month's Kempton success with any amount to spare at Chelsmford eight days ago. He can complete the hat-trick here, likely at the main expense of Gaslight, who remains with untapped potential, and can give the selection most to do.

14:35 - CUILLIN (5) improved with each run in minor events this year, and looked the typical type to progress further on handicap debut at Kempton last time, her opening mark looking a lenient one, but she ultimately failed to do so. However, she wasn't suited by the way that race developed, a modest pace putting the emphasis more on speed. With that in mind, she is well worth another chance from a 2 lb lower mark, for a yard with a good record in this race.

15:10 - This doesn't look the strongest race of its type and, REFEREE (6), who is bred to be smart - dam is an unraced half-sister to the high-class winner up to 1½m Sea Moon, out of smart 11.5f to 14.6f (Park Hill Stakes) winner Eva Luna - is expected to come on plenty for his debut at Kempton last month. He wasn't given a hard time, running green at times, staying on slowly but surely, and he should be well up to winning a race of this nature.

15:45 - The lightly-raced, in-form pair BROUGHTON EXCELS (2) and Spirit of Zebedee stand out a mile up against exposed, moderate rivals and they're likely to come to the fore here, with the first-named taking preference on account of his significantly better draw. Watch Tan is the most appealing of the remainder.
