Timeform on Top Rock Talula

14:00 - ARGYLE (4) hasn't been blessed with a good draw, but Adam Kirby rides this track better than anybody, and he should be able to get him into a good position. Argyle has ran well on his last two starts over this C&D, finishing placed on both occasions, and a reproduction of those efforts here ought to see him in the mix. Thresholdofadream has fewer miles on the clock than a lot of her rivals in this staying handicap and might.

14:35 - KODIAC HARBOUR (2) was sold for a fraction of what he cost as a yearling, and was unfashionable on debut (sent off at 40/1) being a four-year-old gelding in cheekpieces, but he showed plenty to work on nonetheless. He arguably shaped better than the winner, given the position he was asked to come from, awkward leaving the stalls taking a keen hold racing off the pace, before making good headway two furlongs out and closing all the way to the line. This doesn't look the strongest race of its type and it will be disappointing if he doesn't open his account now.

15:10 - SONGKRAN (1) made plenty of appeal on paper - half-brother to very smart 1m winner Persuasive (by Dark Angel) and smart 6f-7f winner Amazour (by Azamour) - and justified strength in the market when making a winning start at Kempton last month, overcoming greenness to get the job done. Hampered early, he made good headway two furlongs out, staying on well to lead on the post. The reopposing Assimilation also shaped promisingly in second, but Songkran left the impression he would come on plenty for that experience and is taken to uphold the form under a penalty.

15:40 - HIGHLAND ACCLAIM (3) has cashed in on a lower all-weather mark in recent weeks, having no problem with the drop back to six furlongs last time, and has been found another very suitable opportunity for his hat-trick bid. Last Page made a promising start for David Loughnane at Kempton last month and is second choice.

16:15 - ELYSEES PALACE (4) failed to follow up his reappearance win when only third at Newcastle last time, but he ran creditably under a penalty and that form looks solid. He would have been suited by a stronger gallop, having every chance over a furlong out, and there should be even more to come from him. Tralee Hills looks the danger.

16:50 - This looks an open handicap but there should be more to come from TOP ROCK TALULA (9), who won a handicap over this distance at Kempton last month, and shaped as though not seeing the trip out upped to 2m at this course last time. She shaped better than the distance beaten suggests, still prominent over three furlongs out but fading in the home straight. The return to this trip will be in her favour and she remains one to be positive about.
