Timeform take you through the card at Leicester on Thursday evening...
"...he has plenty going for him in a tricky race, and gets a narrow vote to score."
Timeform on Captain Lars
17:40 - CAPTAIN LARS' (5) last couple of victories have come in plating company, but he returns to handicaps on a reasonable mark, and is partnered by Gina Andrews, an excellent rider in this sphere, so he has plenty going for him in a tricky race, and gets a narrow vote to score. Bosham's uncomplicated nature makes him appealing in this sort of scenario and Just Us Two isn't badly treated back up in grade.
18:10 - Both MOTAFAAWIT (2) and Nayef Road have above-average pedigrees and hail from stables whose juveniles always warrant respect, so they're expected to fight this out, with preference for the first named given that his breeding points to him being the speedier/more precocious of the pair.
18:40 - An open race, in which BIOTIC (8) makes the most appeal. He is on a good mark and shaped as if back in top form for a long way before eventually weakening (pulled hard early) at Windsor last time so, provided he settles fully here, he can get the better of Bristol Missile and the in-form Poetic Force.
19:15 - KATLEEN (5) has set a solid platform for handicaps, showing fair form in three starts to date, and, given her breeding, it looks as if she hasn't been overburdened with an opening mark of 68, so it's worth taking the chance that she can improve past the likes of Trogon and Mrs Benson, both of whom arrive in good order.
19:50 - CHORAL MUSIC (6) has been most progressive since switched to handicaps and, having shown an excellent attitude to make it 3 wins from her last 4 at Lingfield earlier in the month, she's taken to overcome a small rise in a race where most of the others look averagely treated. Beatbybeatbybeat has been shaping well and warrants respect along with Sussex Girl.
20:20 - MUTABAAHY (5) is thriving on racing right now, winning at Thirsk earlier in the month and only finding one too good (from 2 lb higher) at Carlisle 10 days ago, so he's a confident choice to resume winning ways. Edge of The World, who is also going the right way generally, looks his main danger ahead of last-time-out winner Swissal.
20:50 - HOWARDIAN HILLS (11) is well treated on last season's form and he's been leaving the impression he's back in top form recently, so he should take a big hand in this provided they go quick enough. The revitalised General Brook is the obvious alternative, with Singular Quest also capable of getting involved.
