Kempton Placepot: Tuesday April 21

We are off to the all-weather action at Kempton Park for today's Placepot attempt
We are off to the all-weather action at Kempton Park for today's Placepot attempt

With the jumps action dwindling a little today, we head to Kempton in hope of taking down the Placepot...

"with the services of Luke Morris enlisted he will be hard to catch from the front returned to the course where he thrives."

14:20 - Pearl Noir is two from two over C&D which is no surprise given his prominent run style suits this five furlong test at Kempton perfectly. He comes here after losing efforts at both Chelmsford and Lingfield, but with the services of Luke Morris enlisted he will be hard to catch from the front returned to the course where he thrives.

14:50 - Bold sets the standard in this maiden from what he did at Nottingham in October and is a solid option for a place with the superbly bred New Style and newcomer Prefect looking the main dangers.

15:20 - A trappy handicap for our third leg in which Le Torrent catches the eye for the inform Henry Candy yard. He was caught wide on his first start at this track in nursery company and did well to finish fourth, he comes here off 1lb lower and has solid place claims in an open race. Italian Beauty is also interesting at a bigger price, he finished a creditable seventh in a nursery at this track over 7 furlongs and his breeding suggests he will appreciate the step up to a mile today.

15:55 - Hard to ignore Double Czech who comes here fit and from the same mark as his near miss at Windsor 8 days ago. He is preferred to the current favourite Celestial Knight who is operating off a career high mark and has fitness to prove.

16:25 - Lady Lydia comes here with a fitness edge over many of her rivals and she showed she has the stamina for trips above sprint distances when narrowly losing out over a mile at Chelmsford last time out, a repeat of that from the same mark will see her go close here.

16:55 - Argot comes here fit from his juvenile hurdles campaign and makes his all-weather debut from a 7lb lower mark than he placed off on turf, so he is certainly of interest for place purposes. Thane of Cawdor has a respectable record at Kempton and shaped better than the result when a neck second the last time he tackled this distance. He was not suited by how the race unfolded in both starts over 11 furlongs since, and if he is ready to roll back from a break he will go close under this useful 5lb claimer.
