Timeform on Welsh Lord

16:40 - NERVOUS NERYS (3) used up too much energy from a wide draw last time but has the inside stall to work with this time and might be worth chancing to see off her former stablemate Cobweb Catcher, who has a tricky draw to contend with himself now. Nananita and Sybil Grand are others who could figure.

17:15 - TICKLISH (3) has performed well in a Longchamp sales race since making a winning start to her career on the polytrack at Lingfield and should have even more to offer on just her third career start. However, UNIVERSAL ORDER (1) also arrives with an attractive profile and is worth keeping on side, too. He is open to progress on the back of his Newcastle debut success. Market support for the Archie Watson newcomer Kheros would also bring him firmly into the reckoning.

17:45 - Despite failing to justify short odds IDEOLOGICAL (3) probably stepped up a little on her debut when second at Newcastle last week and this looks a good chance for her to make it two wins in three starts. She was beaten only by a fellow improver who was better positioned and she is fully expected to resume winning ways, likely at the main expense of Sky Defender, who has yet to get close to his debut form in three subsequent attempts but still rates the main danger unless one of the others takes a big step forward.

18:15 - SAJANJL (9) ran to a similar level all three starts in minor/maiden company, but showed improved form on her first start in handicaps when hitting the frame at Chelmsford last month, and should have even more to offer. She wasn't seen to best effect that day, held up off a steady gallop and not asked for her effort until quite late either, keeping on but unable to land a blow to the principals. The longer straight at this course should suit and she is worth chancing for a trainer who has a good record at the track. C&D winner Divine Messenger looks a big danger.

18:45 - This race revolves around Laieth, who looked potentially useful when winning a minor event at Wolverhampton 12 months ago, but there could be some value in backing DESPACITO (8) each way, who is returning from a similar absence. She is making her first start for a trainer who has a good record with his runners returning from an absence, and with improvement likely on just her third career start, she should be hard to keep out of the places.

19:15 - Given the absence of Divin Bere, who made a winning Flat debut on these shores last time, the one to focus on looks the be fellow last-time-out winner CARNWENNAN (5). He showed improved form to get off the mark on his second start in a handicap at Nottingham earlier this month, still looking inexperienced early in the straight but winning convincingly enough in the end from a battle-hardened sort. This longer trip will suit him and he should be able to follow up back on the all-weather.

19:45 - WELSH LORD (3) showed much improved form after nearly a year off the track when opening his account in a minor event at Chelmsford last month, knowing his job well and looking a useful prospect. For all he failed to progress further on his latest start at Lingfield, he was very strong in the market that day, and was beaten only by one who had raised his game considerably. The handicapper hasn't taken any chances with his opening mark, but there should still be more to come, particularly over this longer trip, and he is well worth siding with.

20:15 - The vote goes to ROSS RAITH ROVER (11), who returned to form when landing a gamble at Chelmsford and a 3 lb rise may not be enough to anchor him if in a similar mood here. Goldslinger resumes in this sphere on an attractive mark and is next on the list ahead of the consistent Howardian Hills. I'm Running Late, who got back on track when second last time, and Katabatika are others to consider.
