Timeform take you through the card at Kempton on Wednesday evening...
"...shaped nicely in a Newcastle event last time that wasn’t run to suit horses coming from off the pace."
Timeform on Dark Miracle
16:10 - It's easy to draw a line through ARABIC CULTURE's (5) run at Wolverhampton given he was held up in a steadily-run race, and his course win prior to that suggests he's capable of further success at this level. Magic Mirror is a regular here and shapes as though worth another go at this trip, with Ashazuri is respected. Though almost the outsider of the bunch this morning, there are several reasons to think that COMPULSIVE (12) could outrun his large odds. Gary Moore has won this race twice in the past four years, with horses priced at 12/1 and 8/1, so neither was particularly well-fancied in the betting. Compulsive has only beaten one horse home in two starts for the yard since joining from Roger Varian, but he's a well-bred individual whose best two runs came at this venue, and he could easily fare better now he's been gelded.
16:40 - YOUR MOTHERS' EYES (9) has run in some good races and is worth another chance having not been seen to best effect on nursery debut at Wolverhampton last time. Dancing Jo has obvious claims off the same mark as when a close second here last week, while Cern is a potential improver now venturing into handicaps. RIVIERA CLAIRE (4) found Goodwood to be an inadequate test last time and has been well supported today as she looks to make a winning nursery debut; she's also included.
17:10 - The Roger Charlton-trained HEADMAN (1) looks a banker to be in the first three, having made a deeply impressive start to his career at Newcastle; he looks one to follow. Zakouski and Elamirr are a couple of interesting newcomers, and the former has been well backed today. He's related to several winners in Australia, and his dam is an unraced sister to the high-class Australian winner up to 1¼m Lonhro, but Headman sets a good standard.
17:40 - With Forest of Dean out, this looks wide open. There was plenty to like about Deference's debut fourth at Lingfield and he's a big player with improvement on the cards, while Moraawed and Global Spectrum are newcomers who look likely types on paper. However, both Repulse Bay and IFTON (4) shaped well to date and the twice-raced Ifton is narrowly preferred, having looked the type to keep on improving in time.
18:10 - John Gosden has sent out more successful newcomers recently and Honest Albert could be yet another to make a winning start, however preference is for DARK MIRACLE (2). He makes up a good book of rides for Gerald Mosse and shaped nicely in a Newcastle event last time that wasn't run to suit horses coming from off the pace. Robert L'Echelle shaped well first time up here three weeks ago and must be feared with improvement on the cards. Hafaawa is another newcomer to note.
18:40 - A competitive listed event. The hat-trick-seeking STRAIGHT RIGHT (4) has a very good strike-rate on the AW and is narrowly preferred to Flaming Spear who has done the majority of his racing on turf but did land a pair of competitive handicaps on the tapeta at Newcastle when last seen on the AW a couple of years ago. Victory Bond is another with an excellent record on artificial surfaces and also makes the shortlist, along with Pactolus who chases a third win in a row after two wins in lesser company.
19:10 - Like the non-runner Alfredo, WATERSMEET is another with a very good AW record and is a must for the shortlist, while Baydar was successful on his sole AW run at the start of his career and arrives on the back of some solid efforts on turf.
19:40 - LANDUE had little go right at Chelmsford last time and is taken to get straight back on the up now. Dalileo, Tralee Hills and Tiar Na Nog are others heading in the right direction in a competitive finale.
