13:50 - KNOCKOUT BLOW (3) is bred to be a smart sprinter and though he hasn't managed to win in four starts so far, the drop back to five furlongs looks in his favour here, and he is the one to beat in this now returning from a break. His second to Headway at Chester (finished second in the Coventry next time out) is some of the best form on offer, and if building on that he should get off the mark.
14:25 - No real surprise to see GRAFFITI MASTER (3) as a short-priced favourite here, after a promising debut at Sandown at the beginning of the month, where he was found wanting for know-how after traveling into things well. He has a superb pedigree (by Dubawi and out of Matron Stakes winner Independence) and looks sure to improve
14:55 - Intermodal and Dark Titan are both interesting and lightly raced, but both have fitness to prove here and neither have been particularly strong in betting (albeit only in the morning), so the most solid option looks to be PLY (10), who hasn't had that many starts himself, and has run well twice before at this track. BLUSHING RED (9) could be another to get involved now back on all-weather, having beaten a pair of improvers when winning at Chepstow on his penultimate start.
15:30 - TEPPAL (1) won comfortably on debut last time under a sympathetic ride from Jamie Spencer, and should have more to offer here today. There are plenty of newcomers in the field, and the most appealing looks to be SHUROOQ (13), whose full-sister Raaqy won first-time-out as a two-year-old.
16:05 - Timpani is respected on debut for John Gosden but ODYSSA (1) may well be able to defy a penalty, having won over six furlongs at Ascot earlier this month. She looks set to be suited by the extra furlong here, and already has a solid all-weather run to her name (third at Wolverhampton on debut).
16:35 - SIGN OF THE KODIAC (5) is a better horse on the all-weather than he is on turf, and has been given a chance by the handicapper, dropped 2 lb in the weights since he was last seen in this sphere. STELLARTA (6) is also reverting to the all-weather, and is well treated on his second here in April (1 lb lower now).
17:05 - Mudallel is on a hat-trick, up 6 lb in the weights having won here last time out, and should take some stopping if continuing in the same sort of form. Moolazim should be suited by a return to a mile (saw it out strongly when winning at Yarmouth earlier this season) and could be the biggest danger.
17:35 - Solent Meads probably should have finished second here last time (second got going too late) and looks worth taking on as favourite. Peace And Plenty could be the one to be with now back on the all-weather (unproven on turf) and with Silvestre de Sousa taking over in the saddle for the first time. His pedigree and physique indicate there could be more to come.
