Timeform take you through the card at Kempton on Monday evening...

"The three-year-old is expected to take all the beating under Adam Kirby..."

17:20 - JUST FRED (6) finally got off the mark in first-time blinkers at Chelmsford last time, hitting the front over a furlong out and keeping on well to score by over a length. He remains potentially well treated from just 3 lb higher in the weights here and should give another good account if the blinkers continue to have the desired effect, with Gabriele Malune maintaining the partnership this evening. General Brook also won his most recent outing here and can give the selection most to do.

17:50 - AMERICAN GIGOLO (1) built on the promise of his runner-up effort on Flat debut at Lingfield when going in at that venue 16 days ago, and he looks capable of conceding weight all round in this second leg of the Placepot. Arctic Chief was nowhere near the level of the selection over hurdles but seemed to excel himself in this sphere last time, while Wimpole could be a factor switching codes.

18:20 - SMUGGLERS CREEK (3) has yet to match his Irish form since joining Iain Jardine, but he is still unexposed and this represents a drop in class, so he could be the answer in what is an open race. Mansfield flatters to deceive somewhat, but he should really be competitive in a contest like this, with Mezmaar another to consider.

18:50 - MAGIC MIRROR (4) has been in excellent form at this venue for a while now, with no disgrace in her sixth after a slow start last time. A steadily-run race would count against her this evening but, 3 lb clear of the field on Timeform ratings here, she rates by far the most solid proposition for Placepot purposes, with The Special One and Baby Gal feared most.

19:20 - PAPARAZZI (2) shaped much better than the bare result when third on his most recent start at Lingfield, forced to deliver his challenge from further back than ideal and ultimately doing well after a troubled passage in the straight to be beaten just two lengths. He has a 3 lb hike in the weights to contend with here, but that form still leaves him 4 lb of the field on Timeform ratings and the three-year-old is expected to take all the beating under Adam Kirby, with the unexposed Luna Eclipse completing the shortlist.

19:50 - LACAN (1) confirmed the promise of his previous run to resume winning ways over C&D last time, short of room briefly in the straight but staying on strongly once in the clear to win by three quarters of a length from the reopposing Oud Metha Bridge. A 5 lb rise in the weights looks fair enough and it would be no surprise to see him follow up in this concluding leg of the Placepot. Jumping Jack is also respected on the back of a good second at Lingfield.

20:20 - WESTERN WAY (4) made a late start to his Flat career, but has really improved for the step up to 2m in recent weeks, and the hat-trick is very much on the cards in the finale. Age of Wisdom and Ardamir are a couple of viable threats.
