Nick Shiambouros had a successful lay yesterday. Nick returns with two selections from the all-weather card at Kempton...
"She is a half sister to two winners, and her Dam Pussycat Lips finished second in a Grade 3 at Hollywood Park"
Back Surround at BSP in the 16:45 at Kempton
Surround to swoop
16:45 Kempton - Surround
I am going to take a chance with Surround in this interesting maiden.
This filly finished seventh to Mrs Upjohn on debut at Lingfield earlier this month. She missed the break, and displayed signs of inexperience behind the game winner. She is a half sister to two winners, and her Dam Pussycat Lips finished second in a Grade 3 at Hollywood Park. I think she will leave this form behind and is fairly priced at 11.521/2 on the exchange.
King Of Arms is the favourite at 3.55/2 on the exchange. He finished third in a novice stakes at Lingfield last month, but did not look entirely straightforward. Cheekpieces go on today in an effort to help him focus. Too short for me.
Rusper's Lad a solid choice
17:15 Kempton - Rusper's Lad
Rusper's Lad should make his presence felt in this maiden.
This colt caught the eye on debut when finishing third to Maxi Boy at Yarmouth last May. He kept on strongly in the closing stages, and was gaining on the winner close home. The form of the race has worked out well which is a positive. I think he is open to significant improvement, and is reasonably priced at 3.3512/5 on the exchange.
Newcomer Group One Power catches the eye on pedigree, and is related to plenty of winners. At present he is trading at 6.05/1 on the exchange.
