Through The Card: Kelso, Monday 8 April
Timeform take you through the card at Kelso on Monday...
"...the Lucinda Russell yard - which continues in good form at present - has often targeted this race over the years, landing back-to-back renewals in 2011 and 2012..."
Timeform on Le Frank
14:10 - ELVIS MAIL (1) was far from disgraced in a Grade 2 over C&D last month and holds outstanding claims back down in class. Curramore, Mahler Supreme and Court Jurado can all do battle for minor honours.
14:40 - BENNY'S SECRET (8) proved at least as good as ever back over hurdles when a close second over shorter here 16 days ago and can go one better if seeing out this slightly longer trip. Sunny Destination ought to remain competitive, while Chicoria is worth a market check back from a break with his yard going great guns.
15:10 - UEUETEOTL (1) wasn't disgraced on ground that was possibly too testing for him at Newcastle last time and makes the most appeal off a career-low mark. Charlie Snow Angel arrives at the top of his game and is next best ahead of The Road Home.
15:40 - ANOTHER VENTURE (2) was value for extra when resuming winning ways at Plumpton three weeks ago, in control when getting the second last all wrong and doing well under the circumstances to recover and win by three and three quarter lengths. Kim Bailey's charge has a 4 lb higher mark to contend with here, but he still leads the way on weight-adjusted ratings, and everything looks set fair for another big run under regular pilot Mikey Hamill, provided the first-time visor that worked so well last time has the same effect.
16:10 - LE FRANK (4) was disappointing when well held on his most recent outing at Musselburgh, but he is clearly better than that, as he showed when getting off the mark in this sphere at Hexham in November, and it would be no surprise to see him go close if bouncing back here. Indeed, the form of his Hexham success (from 6 lb lower) sets the standard on weight-adjusted ratings, and the Lucinda Russell yard - which continues in good form at present - has often targeted this race over the years, landing back-to-back renewals in 2011 and 2012.
16:40 - BEYOND GOLD (1) could be the potential improver having won on his only start in points, and gets the vote over Hardrock Davis and Longtymegone in what is, admittedly, a tricky race to conclude proceedings with the Placepot in mind.
17:10 - ROYAL RESERVE (1) may have gone closer with more luck here last time and makes plenty of appeal stepped up in trip. Desert Island Dusk looks the danger.
