Abacadabras - 13:00 Navan

Gordon Elliott holds a strong hand here and it is Abacadabras who looks the one to beat despite a penalty. He finished fourth to Envoi Allen in last season's Champion Bumper - which is working out incredibly well - and followed up his hurdling debut win in impressive style in a Grade 3 event over 2m here last time. The longer trip now will only help and he looks one of the best novices around at present.

Demain des l'Aube - 14:00 Navan

Demain des l'Aube was a fairly useful winner over hurdles when trained in France, and made an encouraging start for new connections after 20 months off when runner-up on chasing debut at Cork in October. He impressed with how strongly he travelled on that occasion, and briefly looked to have the winner's measure on the run-in, just edged out by half a lengths in the closing stages. Henry de Bromhead has given him plenty of time to get over that run, and Demain des l'Aube is open to plenty of improvement on just his second start over fences.

Cherif de l'Isle - 15:00 Navan

A big field is set to go to post but Cherif de l'Isle is potentially ahead of his mark. He attracted support and shaped encouragingly on debut for Gordon Elliott when third over this C&D on his first start for two years last time. He was the only one to make any significant ground from off the pace, and entitled to come on for that run now, he can take advantage of this lenient mark.
