Timeform have found three horses worth backing at Clonmel on Thursday afternoon...
White Star Line has finished in the frame at the Cheltenham Festival for the past two seasons and he belatedly got off the mark over fences when routing his rivals at Listowel last time...
Milestone Miss has her stamina to prove in the three-mile handicap hurdle at 14:55 but she has shaped as if worth a go at this trip and appears to be on a handy mark. Milestone Miss could never get involved on her seasonal reappearance at Gowran Park, but stepped up on that effort when finishing sixth at Limerick last time where she was once again set plenty to do. Both of those staying-on efforts came over two and a half miles so it is hoped the extra distance this afternoon can prompt another improved performance.
In the following contest (15:25), White Star Line is taken to add to his emphatic success in the Kerry National. The Dessie Hughes-trained chaser has finished in the frame at the Cheltenham Festival for the past two seasons and he belatedly got off the mark over fences when routing his rivals at Listowel last time. A strong-travelling type, White Star Line should have no problems dropping back in trip by half a mile and he looks like to have been found a good opportunity.
Speckled Wood looked progressive over hurdles last season and, though she failed to match that form on her first try over fences, there was some encouragement to be taken from her chasing debut at Sligo where she was by no means knocked about. A daughter of the top-notch Like A Butterfly, Speckled Wood is expected to improve markedly with the benefit of that experience behind her and she makes plenty of appeal this afternoon (15:55) with the step up to two and a half miles expected to suit.
