Ballinrobe host racing on Tuesday afternoon and Timeform have identified three horses worth backing...
Seefood made the most of a good opportunity to get off the mark in this sphere at Kilbeggan, registering a wide-margin win as he stayed on strongly to win with plenty in hand, and a reproduction of that effort would mark him down as a leading player...
The meeting kicks off with quite an interesting juvenile hurdle (14:35) and, unsurprisingly, Willie Mullins looks to have a strong chance with Tarabiyn, an Aga Khan-bred horse that shaped well on his hurdling bow last month. Lightly raced for John Oxx as a two-year-old, Tarabiyn was gelded ahead of his hurdling debut, and he offered plenty to work with, taking the eye with a rapid move and shaping as if he is sure to benefit from the outing. With that experience behind him, Willie Mullins' charge could prove difficult to beat.
The Gordon Elliott-trained Swantykay has been largely progressive of late and can make an impact in the 17-furlong handicap hurdle at 15:35. Swantykay produced his best effort yet when finishing third at Kilbeggan last time, looking unlucky not to finish closer having been hampered at the last, and he can bounce back to winning ways, his mark by no means a prohibitive one. The hat-trick seeking Coldstonesober has to be respected, running off a lower mark than when successful over fences at Galways, though there's a feeling he rather picked up the pieces on that occasion, and Swantykay gets ready preference.
We wait until the penultimate race for our final SmartPlay as Seefood could prove a tough nut to crack in the 23-furlong minor chase at 17:40. Seefood made the most of a good opportunity to get off the mark in this sphere at Kilbeggan, registering a wide-margin win as he stayed on strongly to win with plenty in hand, and a reproduction of that effort would mark him down as a leading player. He failed to make an impression on either start back over hurdles, but is presented with a nice opening here and can return to winning ways.
